Strawberry Stuffed French Toast

Ok so here is something i usually make up on sunday mornings once in a while. Its warm and sweet and very filling. This is a big hit in my family

To make this you will need the following:

1 Package strawberries
1 16 oz package of cream cheese
1 stick of butter
1 loaf of day old french bread
1/2 c sugar
Strawberry syrup (or plain syrup)
Eggs
Milk

To start you will need to let your cream cheese reach room temp so that you can mix it easily. Chop up your strawberries into slices and pour into your cream cheese. Pour the sugar into the strawberry and cream cheese and mix altogether. Let it sit for a few minutes so the flavors can marry. In the mean time cut your french bread into 2 inch thick slices. Hollow out the middle of each slice so that you can stuff it with the filling. Make sure not to put a hole completely through the bread (you dont want it to leak out both sides). Stuff each slice with the filling. Mix together the eggs and milk (use as much eggs & milk as you think you'll need). Soak each slice in the egg & milk mixture for at least a minute, each side. Heat your skillet on medium heat, put 1 tbs butter into skillet and allow to melt. Place french toast in skillet and let cook for about 5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Serve with strawberry or plain syrup and a strawberry on top and enjoy!
